RAKU 1 YEAR REUNION

It has been 1 year from completion of RAKU at Canberra.
Having been awarded Best New Restaurant of Australian Capitol Territory shortly after opening, it was the best birthday present for RAKU to be recognised as one of the Top 3 Best New Restaurant in Australia nationally by the 2018 Savour Australia Restaurant & Catering National Awards for Excellence, amongst the 45,000 businesses across Australia’s cafe, restaurant and catering sector.
We took the opportunity to visit RAKU on a whimsical road trip.
It was fantastic to catch up with the team. Being fully booked on a Wednesday night speak volumes about the support received from customers – their enjoyment of the space, and continual effort of the team in the maintenance of excellent quality in cuisine RAKU provides.
Being one of the toughest hospitality construction we have gone through to date, this visit somehow made it all worthwhile.

11TH ANNUAL IDA AWARDS – WINNER

HIGASA has won the 11TH ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL DESIGN AWARDS!
It is a collaboration with the traditional paper umbrella maker, HIYOSHIYA KYOTO Japan.
Higasa draws on the metaphoric relationship between “umbrella in the rain” and “light in the dark”, bringing people together to create intimate space within large open area.
