GOOD AS NEW

blogged by Olivia Shih

160226_001We have found that an old interview we did for Artichoke Magazine in 2011 was given new love by the publisher at Archmedia.

It is rare to have the opportunity to go back to your own thoughts in 5 years time, this article somehow felt like a time capsule. We actually have been very consistent in our philosophy (…phew…!), except the philosophy has been given more and more depth through the years or practice.

DOSHISYA ON DETAIL, JAPAN

blogged by Olivia Shih

160120-002 DOSHISYA has been published in Detail : Magazine for Architects and Engineers, Issue 207 2016 – JAN.

This issue features “Details of sound environment conceived from sound absorption”. I have always felt the acoustic of a space contributes greatly to the class of that space (imagine high end hotel lobby or art gallery with echoey sound..hmm…). Acoustic is most definitely an attribute under valued in the current visual-driven architectural design environment.

KANGAROO CHAIR – LAUNCHED

blogged by Olivia Shih

151125-001Our KANGAROO CHAIR has been launched at IFFT/Interior Lifestyle Living Tokyo!

We named it “Kangaroo” because there is a secret pocket for the Bible… which may be renamed into something more official now it is available commercially.

KANGAROO CHAIR is a collaboration between Facet Studio and Tendo Mokko, designed especially for DOSHISYA KYOTANABE CHAPEL.
