PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The lobby to a theatre is a place for people to hang around waiting for the show to open. It is a little wasteful if the lobby is only a place to spend time for waiting; we want to make it into a place to excite people, hence heighten their emotions for the show.

People upon arrival will notice the existence of the screen of light, which illustrates a forest with various animals within. The screen of light, located at the circulation spine within the lobby, looks as though captured the forest with light in stillness. The moment one moves towards the lobby, one starts to realize that something is "moving". Panel after panel, when one walks along the screen, one realizes that only the animals are moving within the forest. When one stands still, the forest of light remains still; when one moves, the animals in the forest move. The screen is now an interactive artwork.

"Why does it move?" This triggers one's curiosity in trying to understand the trick embedded in the Motion Screen. By activating people's brain activity with the 22 panels of interactive artwork, people enter an excited state, and are ready for the show awaiting.
